interior remodeling.
story: the pine mountain.
I had the pleasure of working with a client who had spent years in Los Angeles and long dreamed of living in the tranquility of the mountains. When she found a property nestled in nature, it was clear that while the location was perfect, the house itself was far from livable. With a vision to transform the space, she saw potential (thankfully) where others might have seen only challenges. Together, we embarked on a complete remodel to bring her dream home to life, turning what seemed like a diamond in the rough into a beautiful sanctuary surrounded by nature.
dining room.
The dining space was one of the most important areas to get right, as it offered a perfect view of the mountain scenery. My goal was to open up this area, creating a seamless flow that immediately expanded the space as soon as you walked in. I wanted this space to feel bright, elegant, and inviting, offering the perfect setting for weekend meals with a view. Since the home would only be used by my client and her husband, I opted for a more intimate dining table, making the area both functional and cozy.

the nook.
The nook area was another special feature I envisioned early on, and it quickly became one of my favorite parts of the design. When I saw the corner by the sliding doors, I immediately imagined a "home café" – a cozy spot where my client could enjoy her morning coffee, away from the bustle of the kitchen. I wanted this nook to feel like a peaceful retreat within the larger, open-plan space, so I chose neutral-toned furniture that seamlessly blended with the sofa in the living room.

living room.
The living room was another area that required significant transformation to align with the modern, minimalistic vision we had for the entire home. The outdated fireplace, which was a major focal point of the room, needed to be replaced with something more sleek and understated. I opted for a simple, modern design that would not only serve as a functional element but also contribute to the overall flow of the space offering a perfect balance of comfort and style.

guest bathroom.
While the main bathroom featured a spacious glass standing shower, I wanted to include a bathtub here as an added luxury—providing the perfect spot for a relaxing soak after a day in the mountains. The design is clean and straightforward, with classic white subway tiles that bring timeless elegance to the space. To add a touch of sophistication, I paired the tiles with black and gold fixtures, creating a subtle contrast that elevates the overall aesthetic without overpowering the simplicity of the design.

bedroom.
The bedroom was designed to be a true retreat, a place where my client could unwind and recharge in absolute serenity. I drew inspiration from Scandinavian minimalism, focusing on creating a quiet, peaceful mood that would promote rest and relaxation. Soft, long white curtains were added to enhance the calm, airy feel of the space. The clean lines and neutral tones allow my client to truly embrace the tranquility of her mountain getaway.

It was incredibly rewarding to see my client’s dream weekend getaway home transform in such a massive way. She was absolutely delighted as the transformation far exceeded what she had imagined when we first started. For me, this project was never just about remodeling a home. Seeing the heart of the home come together, reflecting her vision and lifestyle, reaffirmed that design is so much more than aesthetics—it’s about transformation, connection, and making dreams a reality.
